We focus on what is strong, not what is wrong

Burnie Community House and our community work toward the WORLD HEALTH ORGANISATIONS definition of mental health 2014:

“Mental Health is defined as a state of well-being in which every individual realises his or her own potential, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to her or his community.”

We are an all inclusive space, focusing our efforts on providing various programs, services, projects, activities and workshops that have an emphasis on health and well-being, accredited and informal learning building individual and community capacity. We are located at 24 Wiseman Street, Shorewell Park, Tasmania 7320

Hilltop Central

Hilltop Central is the evolution of our highly successful project Hilltop Fresh Produce Project.  We have adopted the paddock to plate food model and are now into our third year.  We have an inclusive, vibrant social enterprise with four integrated income streams.

‘A project dreamed, designed and created by a group of community focused organisations and community members that are embracing new ways of working together through a collective impact framework.

Sharing the vision and commitment to purpose and recognising innovation comes from different perspectives. We are proud of our efforts to make concrete, long-term changes to the business as usual approach to food, health, people, community and environment.`
